About Denise Wong
A Vancouver native with a passion for diversity and a thirst for knowledge
I was fortunate to get my first break in Television on the Emmy and Gemini award-winning Street Cents on CBC in 2001. After starting out by volunteering for one segment, I was hired on as the Vancouver Reporter for the next three years.
I took a break to explore Europe for a year, before coming back to complete my Broadcast Journalism diploma at BCIT. Partway through my second year of the program, I was hired as the Weekend News Anchor and Weekday Reporter for AM1150 News/Talk/Sports in Kelowna, BC. I was able to do a co-op second year – obtaining my diploma while working in the industry.
I have a passion for broadcasting, a nose for news, and an inquisitive nature. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, writing, and - any chance I get - I shoot and edit video segments. I also try my best to travel to new places. You never know what you’ll discover.
Please feel free to browse my work, and don't hesitate to contact me for any additional information.
